Advocacy. Empowerment. Access.
International Engagement.
In fall of 2017 I attended the University of Edinburgh on a direct exchange. This was a semester full of independence, personal growth and interdisciplinary learning. I was able to take a break from my science classes and take classes that simply interested me. I also did a lot of solo traveling around Scotland, Germany, and the Netherlands. I took a classes on the intersection of Science and Society, Global Health, and History of Medicine.

Leadership.
The University of Washington Dream Project played an extremely important part in my UW experience and help shaped my future path. I spent three years in Dream Project: first as a mentor, then as a High School Lead. This program helped me reflect on my own identity and privilege and first introduced me to education inequity. It was here where I learned about barriers to education and issues with access, which inspired my future goal to be a Teach For America Corp Member.

Research. The summer after my Freshman year, I conducted research on a Honors study abroad in Berlin called - University of Washington Honors and Education 2015: reenacting German and American Identities. While in Berlin, I studied the formation of identity in street art and analyzed the role of the artist.
